The characterization of the environmental dynamics of coastal ecosystems for the region of interest to the JAPI Project is carried out in such a way as to include different environmental scenarios, developed according to the characteristics of the tides, winds and river discharge of the main rivers in the region. These processes represent the main environmental drivers for the hydrodynamics of the region.
In addition to the environmental scenarios already defined, the aim is to study and characterize possible changes in atmospheric and marine processes resulting from climate change scenarios. To do so, a computational experiment was defined based on a critical greenhouse gas emissions scenario defined by the IPCC.

Oceanographic measurements and products generated in the project's area of interest
Since December 2012, LAMCE researchers, in partnership with the oceanographic consulting company PROOCEANO, have been acquiring and analyzing oceanographic data in the region of interest to the JAPI project. In addition to contributing to a better understanding of local oceanographic dynamics, these data are used to develop and improve computational models that represent the marine hydrodynamics of the region of interest.
